Mindfulness is an innate capacity of the mind to be aware of the present moment in a non-judgemental way. It opens up the possibility for more self-awareness, better concentration, emotional intelligence and self -regulation, including the ability to manage anxiety and stress.
Mindfulness Professional Recognition is delivered with a focus on development of your own practise, ability to gain greater self-awareness through reflection and an understanding of the impact, ethics and tools for taking mindfulness into the classroom. The Mindfulness Professional Recognition programme is offered at University of Aberdeen.

Programme Structure

Courses include

Mindfulness training through our Discovering Mindfulness (on-line 12 week ) course or approved provider- an additional fee required for this course.
Mindfulness practice and reflection (6 months): assessed through reflective and academic writing(1500 words).
Mindfulness in the Classroom (on-line 12 week )course- an additional fee required for this course.
Professional Enquiry project : Research in applying mindfulness to an area of interest within the field of Education(4500 words).
On successful completion of all four stages participants will create and submit an e- portfolio for assessment and accreditation.
