Overview
The online Gender and Global Politics (Online) course from SOAS University of London examines politics across borders, conflict, labour, migration, social movements, digital spaces and global governance. With a strong focus on Asia, Africa and the Middle East, it centres Global South scholarship and challenges Eurocentric narratives.
Through contemporary debates and real-world case studies, students analyse how gendered and racialised inequalities are produced, contested and transformed. Ideal for careers in development, human rights, policy, journalism and social justice, the course equips graduates to work critically, ethically and effectively in complex political landscapes.
Employment
We know you’re choosing this programme to advance your career and make a real difference in the world – that’s why we embed employability in every module.
Teaching and assessments are designed to develop a range of skills valued by employers, including critical and analytical thinking, communication, research, and an awareness of cultural and political context.
This is why recent graduates from the Department of Gender Studies have been hired by Amnesty International, The Guardian, the Commission for Gender Equality, and the International Organization for Migration.
