Why study PGCE Secondary Biology (with iQTS) at UWE Bristol?

UWE Bristol are highly experienced in teacher training and education, both campus-based and online, and we're one of a small number of institutions offering the iQTS.

Our iQTS secondary award is suitable for candidates seeking to improve their fundamental teaching skills and employability overseas and in England. The award will offer you an opportunity to start teacher training or develop your existing teaching career. The iQTS Secondary Biology (11-16) programme is offered at UWE Bristol (University of the West of England).

GCSE grade C/4 or above in Mathematics, or equivalent
Undergraduate honours degree 2:2, or a recognised equivalent qualification in any subject
Robust prior knowledge, skills and understanding of biology appropriate to teaching ages 11-16
Minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5, with at least 6.0 in each component (or approved equivalent)
UK DBS, local/overseas criminal record/police checks, or an International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC)', 'Two satisfactory references relating to working with children
Suitability Declaration with an embedded Health Check for Fitness to Teach
