The specialization's originality is that it teaches you two complementary subjects: artificial intelligence and visual computing. This unique combination will allow you to deeply understand multimodal artificial intelligence and learn how to implement the latest techniques effectively. It will also give you the keys to becoming the next creators of innovative applications that apply artificial intelligence to visual content to provide new solutions to creative tasks.
Visual computing ("Vi" in ViCAI) is about processing and generating multimedia content - from images and videos, texts and sounds to animated 3D virtual worlds. These contents are essential for communication and storytelling, as demonstrated by the diversity of online media and their use in the entertainment industry (films and games).

Programme Structure

The first year focuses on multimodal artificial intelligence, from the foundations of machine learning to advanced deep learning techniques. Visual computing is introduced through a selection of courses covering image processing, computer vision and 3D computer graphics.
The second year includes more in-depth courses in machine learning (including deep reinforcement learning and large language models), computer vision, and 3D content creation. It also covers a range of use cases, from embodied conversational agent animation to virtual reality applications, robot navigation, and the design, manufacturing, and control of soft robots.

Hold a bachelor's degree of at least three years, having earned 180 ECTS with a strong background in science and/or engineering. Please check the specific academic requirements by program here.
Candidates can apply in the same year they obtain their degree.
English proficiency: IELTS (academic) 7, TOEFL iBT 95, Cambridge Advanced Exam C1.
French proficiency is not required.
