Geography and Environmental Education from Addis Ababa University program aspires to prepare high-level scholars by enabling its prospective graduates to acquire knowledge in broad areas of geography and geography education; equipping them with advanced research and 21st century skills related to geography and geography education; and develop a positive attitude towards geography and environmental education; and the teaching profession, in general.

The graduates of this Program will also have an opportunity to serve as advisors to international organizations; consult nongovernmental organizations locally; design and develop policies; develop curriculum and instructional strategies; undertake environmental and sustainability education and training; and take part in related services. More importantly, the graduates are expected to make a meaningful contribution towards greening of the physical environment as well as human mind so as to make the world a better place for ALL beings, human and non-human! The Program lasts two years.
