Overview
What will you learn
The communication between humans and computers is currently gaining lots of attention. Companies are increasingly communicating with clients via automated systems on websites, and ChatGPT has become a widely used tool for generating ideas and concrete texts. The demands we place on these language systems are becoming ever higher, and their further development requires scientific knowledge of various kinds. In this Master’s programme, you will learn how to combine linguistic knowledge with technical knowledge in order to improve communication between humans and machines.
Future career opportunities
Developers of automatic language systems currently have a growing need for people who do not only understand the technical side of things, but who can also contribute linguistic knowledge and knowledge of human communication for optimisation purposes. Language experts are able to evaluate the output of automatic systems from a linguistic and communicative perspective. Such qualitative analyses create a clear picture of what needs to be improved. After your Master’s programme, you can work for companies and institutions that use automatic language systems or institutions and publishers that are involved in the development of digital learning environments.
