Overview
EMOTION is designed to train students across three key sectors related to skin health and care: cosmetics, dermatological drugs, and medical devices. The programme offers added value by providing comprehensive knowledge of skin physiopathology, combined with practical skills to identify or develop active ingredients (through synthesis or extraction from natural sources), formulate them, and evaluate their performance through biological, toxicological, analytical, non-clinical, and clinical testing.
Accreditation
The program delivers a double degree for two different Universities.
Programme Structure
Students have the opportunity to study in at least two different countries during the programme.
In the first year, they are based at the University of Eastern Piedmont (Italy), where the first two terms are completed. During the third term, they can choose their mobility track, which must be carried out at either Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (Spain) - Non-clinical Development, or Université de Namur (Belgium) - Clinical Development. During the fourth term, they will complete their final elective project at a private company or a research laboratory affiliated with one of the partner institutions.
Audience
A background in both biology and chemistry is required for being considered eligible.
Lecturers
Lectures delivered by academic lecturers are integrated with laboratories, seminars and thematic workshops given by guest lecturers coming from the private sector. On-site visits to companies and international fairs such as Cosmoprof are organized every year.
