Overview
Not just working AI – understandable AI
We educate AI professionals who design explainable, transparent, and responsibly deployed systems.
Today, artificial intelligence is no longer enough if it simply “works.” The real challenge is to understand how and why AI systems make decisions, and to ensure those decisions are safe, ethical, and worthy of trust.
Throughout the program, students explore the methods and limitations of explainable, reliable AI, with particular focus on applications that affect people’s lives, health, and fundamental rights.
At Pázmány ITK, we see this as essential: trust in intelligent systems emerges only when their operation is both technically robust and genuinely understandable to humans.
Industry-ready – open to research
A program designed to support multiple future paths.
Our goal is to equip students with hands-on skills for real industrial environments, while providing strong theoretical foundations for advanced academic and research-oriented careers.
Graduates are therefore well prepared to succeed in industry or to continue their studies in doctoral programs.
At Pázmány ITK, this balance is essential: artificial intelligence evolves rapidly, and long-term success belongs to those who can learn continuously, adapt confidently, and build on solid fundamentals.
Programme Structure
Human–AI collaboration at the core
We build AI to work with humans, not replace them. The programme emphasises human cognition, perception, and decision-making. Students learn to design AI systems that support human decisions, can be personalised, and communicate results clearly and transparently. This human-centred perspective is essential in areas such as healthcare, education, public administration, and service industries, where AI typically enhances rather than substitutes human expertise.
AI systems – not just models
The programme teaches AI as a complete system rather than an isolated model. Students learn the full AI lifecycle: data preparation, model design, validation, deployment, and operation. This systems-level approach helps ensure that AI solutions remain reliable, secure, and trustworthy in real-world environments.
Audience
The AI Engineering MSc is intended for graduates with a background in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related technical fields. The programme is designed for students interested in designing, developing, and deploying AI systems in real-world applications, and for those planning careers in AI-driven industries or further research and PhD studies.
