Overview
The MSc in Civil Engineering at University of Glasgow is intended for students with a first degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline who wish to extend their expertise to a higher level in preparation for a professional career.
Two major design project courses will develop your abilities to apply your knowledge of civil engineering to the design of engineering projects. One of these projects is specifically civil engineering in content. The other is multi-disciplinary in nature and will involve working in teams with MSc students from other engineering disciplines to tackle a broad-based design problem.
You will also undertake an individual project, allowing you to investigate a specific topic in considerable depth.
You will be taught by staff who are leading researchers in their fields, so that course content can reflect state-of-the-art understanding, relevant to future challenges for civil engineering industry and the profession.
The programme is designed to provide the advanced education required of the civil engineers of tomorrow.
The school has an Athena Swan Silver Award, demonstrating the school’s commitment to supporting women in scientific studies and careers, and to improving the working environment for all.
