Overview

Sports psychology is a branch of science that examines how participation in sports, exercise, and physical activities affects individuals and how their psychological and mental factors are influenced as a result of these activities. This field provides services in areas such as optimizing athletes' performance and well-being using psychological data and techniques, increasing sports participation and health behaviors, and analyzing optimum mental processes for mental and physical development and applying them to life. In the Psychology master's program, participants learn the necessary psychological techniques to improve the health status and sports performance of clients. The program's theory and internship opportunities enable participants to become competent in many areas, including enhancing athlete performance, improving exercise behavior, enhancing overall health and well-being, and coping with obesity. Psychology (Non Thesis) is delivered at Kadir Has University.

Outcomes

1- Ability to assess scientific, technological, social and cultural developments and to disseminate them respecting scientific neutrality and ethic responsibilities.2- Gaining advanced skills in using research methods necessary for studies in the field3- Searches the answer to an original research question using existing theories and methods.4- Ability to perceive, design, apply and conclude original processes of research independently; ability to manage these processes5- To identify the weaknesses of existing methods and contribute to their improvements6- Having the awareness of lifelong education, ability to follow current developments, technological innovations, and methods in the field and related fields7- Ability to contribute to scientific literature at an international level by publishing the outputs of academic studies in respected academic media8- Gaining the ability to develop field-related innovative ideas and methods by making use of advanced intellectual processes such as creative and critical thinking, problem solving and decision making9- Having the ability to to defend his/her ideas on topics in national and international platforms
