Overview
This studio-based Contemporary Art Practice master’s programme from World University of Design encourages speculative and reflective practices, where making and critical thinking are central. Students engage with a wide spectrum of media like painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, sound, performance, installation, intermedia, social practice, and new media (digital/AI/VR) while also exploring non-media-specific approaches that blur disciplinary boundaries.Regular dialogues with faculty, visiting artists, designers, architects, and scientists expose students to diverse ways of thinking and making, helping them situate their practice in broader cultural, technological, and social contexts. Alongside studio work, theoretical studies deepen understanding of the frameworks that shape Art today, encouraging students to connect their practice with history, theory, and contemporary debates.
Careers:
Graduates of the program develop the confidence and skills to pursue careers as professional artists, curators, educators, researchers, cultural entrepreneurs, or Arts writers, while also positioning themselves for opportunities in Art institutions, galleries, museums, festivals, and interdisciplinary collaborations. The program builds not just artistic capacity but also the organizational and entrepreneurial skills needed to sustain long-term creative practices.
