Overview
The Molecular Biology And Genetics course from Acibadem University students participating in this program will have the opportunity to work on various subjects such as genetic disorders, cancer, stem cells and neurodegenerative diseases. During these studies, omics technologies, animal experiments, cell biology, molecular biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology research methods are applied. The program will shed light to advancements for the diagnosis, classification and treatment of diseases by illuminating the molecular and physiological mechanisms in cells, tissues and organs in normal and disease states, in an environment with advanced technology and research methods.
Key facts:
By definition, "Translational Science" includes understanding the scientific and functional principles underlying the translational stages. To go into a little more detail, translation means transforming laboratory and clinical research into practices that will improve the health of society and individuals. Laboratory research falls within the scope of basic research and aims to elucidate the basic molecular mechanisms of physiological balance, disease and behavioral mechanisms. The foundation and all subsequent stages of translational science are based on these basic research. The next stage of translational biomedicine is pre-clinical research, which can also be defined as the bridge connecting medicine and basic research. At this stage, mechanisms discovered during basic research are tested using human and animal cell lines, animal models, and/or human or animal tissue samples. These tests include the discovery or repositioning of new drugs, devices or diagnostic kits. In short, the aim of the Molecular and Translational Biomedicine Master's program is to contribute to the training of students who will carry our country to the position of innovative countries in this field by continuing basic and preclinical research that will improve human diagnosis and treatment.
