Career Opportunities
The purpose of the Higher Education (Teaching and Learning) programme offered at Central University of Technology, Free State is to professionalise the practice of lecturers and to enhance the quality of teaching and learning at institutions of higher education through scholarly engagement with the field of higher education studies and through the development of critically reflexive practitioners. In line with the HEQSF, this programme will strengthen and deepen the lecturer’s knowledge of higher education as a field of study. Furthermore, it will enhance the quality of teaching and learning at CUT and other institutions of higher education through scholarly teaching, reflection, as well as linking theory with practice.

Other requirements
General requirements
- An appropriate bachelor’s degree or appropriate advanced diploma in education or related field or any qualification at NQF level 7 in a related field. The applicant must have at least 2 years teaching experience in a higher education sector and currently teaching in the HE sector.
- Applicants must be currently teaching in a university, be proficient in English preferably at NQF level 7, whereby they are able to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Furthermore, the candidates must be able to use and apply generic computer skills such as Microsoft office.
- Lastly, the candidates with relevant NQF level qualifications and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Post Schooling, Education and Training Sector (PSET) work experience could be considered through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
