Overview
Course Overview
The Fine Art program at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design is interdisciplinary and based on the conviction that artistic creation can draw on all forms of knowledge and means. The programme functions in the field of contemporary art and critical aesthetics. It is grounded in the values of the art department's own history of socially committed education – for us art is deeply integrated into both society and debate.
Elements in the programme include individual mentoring, group discussions, workshops, seminars, lectures and field trips outside the institution.
This practice-based, highly individualised programme starts from your own project, which will be realised and intensified during the two years of your studies in regular consultation with your assigned tutor. During the programme, critical and analytical methods will be explored as well as the relationship to institutions both within the artistic domain and in society at large.
Students will partake in mandatory courses toward building critical skills development, artistic research and artistic writing. A number of elective courses, focus groups, and workshop skills will be offered each term to support a wide variety of creative methods.
