
Overview
Through the Smart Sustainable Agriculture Systems in Mountain Areas course from Free University of Bozen-Bolzano multidisciplinary approach, it integrates agricultural, environmental and economic expertise to prepare professionals for the sustainability challenges of the sector. Learning activities include theoretical classes, practical activities, field trips and internships to ensure a comprehensive and practical education. Graduates will be able to develop strategies to increase the resilience of farms, promote sustainable rural development and conserve/preserve the natural and cultural resources of mountain regions.
Career opportunities:
Graduates can work as agronomists, researchers, consultants or managers in the agricultural, forestry and environmental sectors. Opportunities include roles in public institutions, private companies, international organisations and NGOs. They will be able to develop strategies for the sustainable management of mountain farming systems, using modern intelligent technologies and maximising their economic and environmental performance.

General requirements
Bachelor graduates of the following Italian course categories (according to Ministerial Decree no. 270/04):
- L-25 Agricultural, agri-food and forestry sciences and technologies
- L-13 Biological sciences
- L-32 Science and technology for the environment and nature
- L-38 Zootechnical sciences and animal production technologies,
- as well as titles from the previous system that were equivalent to them, or a foreign title recognized as comparable.
In the presence of a three-year degree other than those listed above, candidates must have taken:
- at least 20 ECTS of core subject areas (SSDs) among those listed in the Ministerial Decree of degree classes for class L-25, and
at least 30 ECTS of characterizing subject areas (SSDs) from among those listed in the Ministerial Decree of the degree classes for the L-25 category, relating to at least two subject areas.
