The Economics program at University of Zambia is involved in applied research in various fields including trade, health economics, poverty, agricultural economics, monetary economics, public sector economics, and environmental economics, which also feeds into the teaching curricula.

The Department collaborates with leading global research institutions on a various research activities. Locally, we provide technical expertise to various government institutions such as line ministries, the Bank of Zambia, the Central Statistical Office.
