Overview

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at The University of Toledo is designed to prepare advanced practice nurses to care for families in a wide variety of community and hospital based psychiatric settings.

The curriculum features theoretically based and clinically focused courses. PM HNP graduates are eligible to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification exam corresponding to their population foci upon graduation.

Career

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners practice in settings such as:

Community mental health centers
In-patient or outpatient psychiatric facilities
Correctional facilities
Veterans Administration psychiatric facilities
Domestic violence shelters

Nearly 75% of our M.S.N. and D.N.P. graduates are employed within 12 months of graduation.
