With this Public Health - Health Promotion course from Leeds Beckett University you will also investigate the psychology of behaviour change and how people learn about health. The research strand will enable you to critically appraise evidence and develop research skills.

Led by a committed team of academics and specialists in the field, you will be introduced to the 'social' model of health rather than the predominant 'medical' model, enabling you to focus on how people and communities can be empowered to improve their health and how public policy can create healthier societies.

Career opportunities:

You will have the skills to commission, design, plan, implement and evaluate health promotion interventions. Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree in the cognate subjects of Health, Social Sciences, Nursing, Teaching, Environmental Health, Health Visiting, Community Work or International Development, at least a second class honours degree in a non-cognate subject supported by evidence of an aptitude for the subject applied for, or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment.
