Led by a committed team of academics and specialists in the field, you will be introduced to the 'social' model of health rather than the predominant 'medical' model, enabling you to focus on how people and communities can be empowered to improve their health and how public policy can create healthier societies.
With this Public Health - Health Promotion from Leeds Beckett University you will also investigate the psychology of behaviour change and how people learn about health. The research strand will enable you to critically appraise evidence and develop research skills.
Career
You will have the skills to commission, design, plan, implement and evaluate health promotion interventions. Our graduates are working as health promotion specialists, public health consultants, public health service managers, researchers, lecturers and in a range of other health and wellbeing roles at policy, planning and management levels.
