Overview
Expressive arts therapy is a dynamic field in the mental health profession. It is based on the empirical knowledge that the process of artistic creation, under the guidance of a qualified therapist, enables individuals to become more expressive and communicative, develop self-awareness and therefore begin to heal.
The practice can be applied to people of all ages. It is especially valuable for clients who have difficulties expressing themselves verbally and is useful in addressing trauma because of art's capacity to express traumatic imagery and experience.
In this Expressive Arts Therapy program at Chulalongkorn University, students will acquire knowledge on methods and techniques of expressive arts therapy, research methods, assessment, and ethics in clinical practice, as well as field training under supervision.
This is to enable students to develop new and appropriate interventions for varied populations in different settings.

The MA graduates can pursue vast careers such as an art therapy professional in government and private sectors, medical organizations, NGOs, educational institutions and much more.
