Shipping and Sea Transports - Economics and Politics program offered by University of Macedonia aims to provide in-depth knowledge in combination with corresponding practical experience and thus to produce graduates that can be employed in enterprises or organizations, existing or to be created in the future, involved in the fields of sea transports and logistics.

The establishment and operation of the MSc on Sea Transports & Shipping: Economics & Politics is a central element of the effort undertaken by the University of Macedonia to reinforce its participation in the overall developments in Northern Greece, highlighting, at the same time, the development perspectives of the city of Thessaloniki. The various recent changes at international level, and especially in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkan Peninsula, in combination with the significant technological advances in the fields of energy, of transports and of logistics, have created a framework within which a specialized postgraduate programme of studies, focusing exactly on these fields, will be a crucial factor of presenting the region as a focal point of political developments, economic activities, energy pipelines and trade routes. The University of Macedonia, as a Higher Education Institution with specific advantages in the fields of economic and social sciences, and especially in developing postgraduate programmes of studies, is the proper organization of organizing and delivering specialized courses, by providing in-depth knowledge on fields which are relevant to the new conditions of the rapidly changing environment of international relations in the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean, taking into account areas such as shipping, transport, logistics, etc.

- Official copy of first degree. If the degree has been obtained abroad, it must be accompanied by the deed of recognition by the proper authorities. The deed may be submitted by the time of formal acceptance to the MSc at the latest.
- Certified certificate of detailed transcript.
- Two letters of recommendation, preferably from Professors and/or University Lecturers (Forms of letters of recommendation may be provided by the Secretariat).
- Certificate of excellent knowledge of English. This knowledge will be certified in accordance with the provisions of Greek legislation.
- Certificate of good knowledge of an additional foreign language. This knowledge will be certified in accordance with the provisions of Greek legislation.
- Certified copy of police ID or passport.
