Overview
The theoretical study courses in Information Technology from Riga Technical University are planned in such a way that the acquired knowledge in programme engineering and project management is used in the realization and practice of study projects. During their studies, students develop two projects, developing the communication and planning skills necessary for managers and lead specialists. The study programme includes research internship and qualification internship.
Tasks
- to create opportunities for students to acquire second level professional higher education in the field of information and communication technology (ICT);
- to develop the ability to understand, evaluate and use global tendency in context of state’s regional development, and to ensure the development of acquired knowledge, skills, abilities and professional treatment according to requirements of labour market;
- to promote satisfaction of need for self-education and participation in further education;
- to develop proficiency in research work and creative approach to software engineering or solutions of management problems;
- to provide connection between academic and business like researches and study work and solve professional problems, involving students in researches about current problems in information technologies;
- to promote proper understanding of professional ethics standards and to observe it at work and social life;
- to prepare professional masters in information technologies, who could successfully continue their studies in doctoral programmes in any of ITT science fields or interdisciplinary study programmes.
