Geodesy and Geoinformation at Vienna University of Technology meets this demand with a specialised training which will enable graduates to take on leading roles in public authorities and businesses – roles that involve the collection, processing and communication of spatial data or the development of software and instruments for such purposes – or to become engineering survey consultants, or to specialise further by means of relevant doctoral study.

Work is carried out in small, manageable groups with direct and personal contact between students, scientific assistants and professors. The Institutes' facilities have been assessed as good to very good, with a particular focus on the latest developments in terrestrial and satellite-assisted measuring techniques as well as laser scanning.

General requirements

Persons whose native language is not English have to prove their knowledge of the English language. For a successful course of study, English is recommended according to reference level B2 (equivalent to the Austrian Matura level) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Some supplementary courses to obtain full equivalence of the completed studies are offered in German. Therefore, German language skills are recommended according to reference level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
