Delivered jointly by the University of Stirling and the University of Dundee , this Psychological Therapy in Primary Care programme is designed by NHS professionals and clinical academics to give you the clinical and professional skills you need to work as a clinical associate in applied psychology within the NHS.
Career
Applicants for this course should be aware that they are also applying for employment with the NHS and therefore must be eligible for employment in the NHS. This includes having appropriate personal qualities suited to employment in the NHS. Recruitment will be jointly undertaken by senior academic staff and NHS staff.
Accreditation
- The programme is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and graduates are eligible for registration with the BPS.
- The programme also has Level 1 accreditation from the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP).

General requirements
- A UK Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1) degree
- Your degree needs to be in Psychology, and you will need to hold the Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS). A MSc Psychology conversion degree will also be accepted, if it is of Merit grade (average mark of 60% or higher) and if it confers GBC with the BPS.
