Our Master of Science in Cybersecurity from the British University in Dubai has been carefully designed to develop qualified and skilled cybersecurity professionals. The programme covers cybersecurity from governance and policy to penetration testing and digital forensics. The programme builds the knowledge and skills to design, develop, defend and manage secure systems. The programme offers a wide range of learning opportunities in a stimulating learning environment. Additionally, the teaching materials, lectures, seminars, research, case studies and labs in our programme are informed by world-class research in AI and cybersecurity being undertaken at BUiD, in collaboration with experts holding globally-recognised industry-standard certifications.

Graduates can enter a range of careers in various sectors, including oil and gas, hospitality, energy, transportation, retail, manufacturing, defense, aviation, ICT, telecommunications, and banking/financial industries. They can work as cybersecurity managers, security engineers/architects, information security analysts, cybersecurity consultants, information security officers, digital forensic investigators, ethical hackers/penetration testers, threat hunters/malware analysts, and incident response specialists. Alternatively, graduates can pursue further studies by undertaking a PhD, which will pave the way for a research career in academia or industry.

General requirements

A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a closely-related field) equivalent to an Upper Second Class (UK) or with a good GPA (3.0 or above) from an accredited university. A business or an engineering degree with a significant level of computing content may also be considered. Applicants with equivalent professional qualifications and/or relevant work experience may also be considered.
A minimum EmSAT score of 1400, TOEFL score of 550 (213 CBT, 79 iBT), IELTS academic score of 6.0, or their equivalents on another standardised nationally, or internationally, recognised test that is approved by the Ministry of Education in the UAE.
A copy of the updated C.V
Submission of a certificate of equivalency issued by the Ministry of Education in the UAE for all previous degree certificates awarded by institutions outside the UAE.
A copy of the passport along with a copy of the Emirates ID (If available).
Al Ethbara Number (for UAE nationals only).
