The Building Surveying degree offered by Dundalk Institute of Technology is targeted at those currently working in the industry wishing to upskill or for graduates with a related (cognate) qualification who wish to convert to a career in Building Surveying.
Career Opportunities
Building Surveyors are involved in activity across every built environment sector including residential, commercial, industrial and health and specialise in construction technology, building pathology, measurement and analysing design and building defects.
For this reason, the Building Surveying profession is critically important in advising clients about energy performance, building control regulations and remediation of legacy defects such as pyrite.

General requirements
- Entrants should have a minimum of a 2nd class honours degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Estate Management, Civil Engineering or a related (cognate) area.
- Applicants who do not meet these requirements but have relevant work experience may be assessed for entry in line with the DkIT RPL Policy and Procedures.
- International students must have a minimum level of English equivalent to IELTS 6.5. Candidates may be interviewed.
