Overview
The Economics programme at University of Southern Denmark focuses on giving you a solid theoretical and methodological foundation through its mandatory courses and gives you the opportunity to pursue your areas of interest through the elective courses.
Key features
In the first year, students may explore advanced courses within microeconomics, macroecomics, mircoeconometrics and finance — all of which are taught in English. The curriculum explores topics such as the pandemic, war, inflation and so on. The teaching is mainly organized as lectures with practical assignments with the opportunity of individual supervision.

General requirements
To apply for the Master's programme in Economics, you need a relevant Bachelor's degree. You can apply if you hold one of the following degrees:
- BSc in Economics from SDU - gives you a legal claim for admission
- BSc in Economics from another Danish university
- BSc in Mathematics and Economy from SDU or another Danish university
- BSc in Economics and Business Administration (HA) from SDU. The degree is qualifying if it includes the following courses: - Behavioural economics (10 ECTS) or Strategy and markets (10 ECTS) or Welfare economics (10 ECTS) - Econometrics (10 ECTS) or Regression analysis (10 ECTS)
You can also apply if you hold a similar degree. As a minimum, the following subjects must be included with the stipulated number of ECTS:
- Mathematics 10 ECTS
- Statistics and econometrics 15 ECTS
- Microeconomics 20 ECTS
- Macroeconomics 10 ECTS
- Finance 10 ECTS
