Overview

The Quantitative Decision Making in Economics and Management course at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz covers three complementary subject areas. these arestatistical/econometric methods of data analysis,Methods of data-driven planning and optimization of economic processes as well

the psychological, social and behavioral science foundation of strategic interactions and economic decisions.

What is it about?

By combining these teaching contents, students are qualified to examine and solve individual, corporate strategic and social decision-making problems based on data and with the help of analytical methods.During the course of their studies, the students gained a broad overview of the three subject areas through the compulsory courses. The subsequent specialization in the elective area gives them a deeper theoretical and methodological understanding as well as practical skills, so that they are qualified to select and apply specific methods in decision-making situations and to critically interpret their results.The students are able to develop solutions in groups and have the necessary skills to present the knowledge gained to a specialist audience or the public.
