Overview
Description
To respond to the challenges facing natural spaces, the Forest, nature and society - International management program at AgroParisTech - Institute of Sciences and Industries of Life and the Environment is a one-year post-master educational course, with a deliberately placed emphasis on the human sciences (economic, social and management sciences). applied to natural resources, rather than biotechnical disciplines.
The course is based in particular on the scientific and academic skills and the professional network of the GEEFT team.
The MS FNS-MI course is structured according to an educational progression allowing the learning of thematic and academic fields around four reference teaching sites:
- The ecological challenges of tropical forest ecosystems at the Kourou campus of AgroParisTech, in Guyana
- The discovery of sustainable forest management and its stakeholders in the forestry sector in the Nancy center of AgroParisTech, a historic site of French higher forestry education
- The strategic vision necessary for the implementation of changes in business management, innovation and human resources at HEC Paris , as part of the MSc Sustainability & Social Innovation
- The foundations of theoretical and practical frameworks in social and management sciences for the management of international ecosystems with a scenario in the context of international environmental management intervention, at the Montpellier center of AgroParisTech.
Indeed, one of the important challenges of this MS is to enable auditors, not only to strengthen their knowledge and to implement critical analysis skills, but also to conduct collective expertise projects in management of the environment. Throughout the training, they therefore have scenarios to carry out several group works, culminating in a collective field study in an international context.
