Overview
Course Overview
The Fine Art (Media) program at Bath Spa University will encourage you to experiment and take risks before going on to establish your own strategy for practice. You’ll develop skills and knowledge through a combination of practice, research and professional development.
You’ll build your creative networks across the South West and internationally, connecting with our existing partners and our colleagues’ research strengths within the Centre for Cultural and Creative Industries, the Art Research Centre and the Material: Art and Technology research group and our innovation hub, The Studio. Our students have capitalised on many opportunities to collaborate with galleries and museums, artists and curators, businesses and educational institutions.
The course is designed to support the development of your own research through media art practice. Teaching on this course takes the form of one to one tutorials in the studio, seminars, talks and practical and theoretical workshops. It will help you identify, explore and develop your individual position as an artist. You’ll take a holistic approach, embedding theory, research, and historical and contemporary practice into your work.
You'll have access to specialist resources and equipment for moving image and sound production, including binaural immersive sound equipment, specialist still and moving image cameras, 360 cameras and editing equipment.
