The Information Technology degree at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia is a Master's Degree by research. It is a research degree by thesis under the supervision of experienced members of academic staff or a supervisory panel. The minimum duration of study is 1 years for full time and 2 years for part time.

Key facts

The progress of a research student is monitored and assessed by the supervisor at the end of each semester. A final assessment is made through the thesis prepared by the student and an oral examination. A student who has satisfied the Examination Committee in all aspects of their work is eligible for the award of the master's degree.

A bachelor's degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by UTHM Senate; or
A bachelor's degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
A bachelor's degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment.
Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by UTHM and meet the minimum CGPA based on (i) to (iii) (Rigorous Assessment)
