Overview
Biomaterials (With Thesis) course from Acibadem University do not have to be of biological origin; they can be made of metal, ceramics, natural or synthetic polymers and their composites. Advances in biomaterials have progressed so much that applications have even begun to be treated by 3D printing directly on the patient on the operating table of the injured tissue that we saw in the movies a few years ago.
The topics that will be offered to Biomaterials (With Thesis) students in our field on education and research at Acibadem University are listed as follows:
- Polymeric, Metallic and Ceramic Biomaterials; 3D Printing, Micro-Nano Patterned Surfaces, Hydrogels, Vascularization, Wound Healing, In Vitro Tissue Models, Microfluidic Systems
- Tissue Engineering (Bone, Cartilage, Heart and Skeletal November, Vascular, Nerve, Skin, Ocular Tissues, etc.), 3D Tissue Scaffolds, Stem Cells
- Controlled Drug Tuesday, Targeted Nanoparticles, Functional Polymer, Bioactive Scaffolds, Surface Modification
- Gait Analysis, Motor Learning and Adaptation, Orthopedic Biomechanics, Sports Biomechanics, Instrumentation
- Medical Simulation, Hemodialysis Membranes, Serious Gaming, Virtual/Augmented/Mixed Reality
- Within the scope of our program, it is also possible to conduct R & D studies on biomaterials using freshly frozen cadavers.
Career opportunities:
Thanks to this technology, it is possible to make nano- and micro-sized patterns on materials and transfer these patterns to other pure materials. In fact, human tissue actually transmits messages to cells and tissues through small physical and chemical elements at this level. Sometimes these messages act by turning into biological and chemical signals, and sometimes they act physically. If an implant can be decorated with such signal elements, processes such as interaction with tissue, healing speed can be significantly improved.
These mentioned methods will also show their effects more clearly in the coming years and will make important contributions to the field of health.Programme Structure
