Overview
Overview
The Psychology program is offered by University of Suffolk. Our MSc in Psychology is a conversion course for students with an undergraduate psychology degree that was not accredited by the British Psychological Society or an undergraduate degree in a discipline other than psychology. The course combines the award of a masters with eligibility for graduate based chartership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society (subject to approval by the BPS). GBC is the minimum academic qualification required to work as a professional psychologist also providing eligibility to apply for professional training in any branch of professional psychology. The course provides a comprehensive and critical understanding of biological, cognitive, social and developmental psychology as required by the British Psychological Society.
Every year a number of enquiries are received asking whether we offer a psychology conversion course so there is clearly an identifiable need. Our own Alumni prior to 2017 are also viable candidates for this programme as they would not have been BPS accredited at the time that they completed their degree.
We have ANT Neuro and Neuroscan EEG, Eyelink Eyetracking, Nexus ECG and software to support an array of potential research projects.Career opportunities:
This postgraduate conversion course will afford BPS accreditation for those wanting to change career paths to become a practicing psychologist. It will enable graduates to access the professional training required for roles within professional psychology.
