Overview
With an emphasis on the practical culture of engineering alongside design, this study cycle equips students with specific skills in four areas of specialisation: Processes and Product; Energy; Biotechnology; the Environment.
This training offer is almost entirely provided by the Department of Chemical Engineering. This master's gives students the opportunity to learn new skills and methodologies of work, which are in consonance with the evolution of teaching and learning practices in the best European institutions.
The programme prepares students for a professional career in practical or research activities in Chemical Engineering or related areas. Emphasizing a practical engineering culture simultaneously with the design activity, the syllabus offers students the possibility to acquire specific skills in one of the following specializations:

- Energy;
- Biotechnology;
- Environment.
Job Opportunities
Holders of a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto are qualified to work in a wide variety of areas, particularly in the industry, research, educational institutions or in technical-commercial activities, among many others, nationally and internationally.

- Holders of a Bachelor's degree or legal equivalent in the area of Bioengineering or similar area deemed appropriate by the Scientific Committee of the Cycle of Studies;
- Holders of a foreign higher academic degree in the area of Bioengineering or a similar area deemed appropriate by the Scientific Committee of the Cycle of Studies conferred following a first cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a country adhering to this process;
- Holders of a foreign higher academic degree in the area of Bioengineering or a similar area considered appropriate by the Scientific Committee of the Cycle of Studies with a minimum duration of 3 academic years;
- Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum in the area of Bioengineering or a similar area deemed appropriate by the Scientific Committee of the Cycle of Studies
