Overview
Beyond a common core of fundamental linguistics at Aix-Marseille University, the Master of Language Sciences student has the choice between two specialisations: Languages in Contact and Terrain (LCT) and Experimental Linguistics (LEx).
The training is also of the enriched pre-service type for the majority of the courses. As many of the courses take place at the Speech and Language Laboratory, students also benefit from regular contact with the laboratory's researchers and from supervision by the engineers of the Centre d'Expérimentation sur la parole.
The Master's Degree in Language Sciences aims to impart advanced knowledge concerning the mechanisms of speech production and perception, the role of prosody and gestures in linguistic expression and interpretation, the functioning of language in its conversational and interactional context, language contacts, language change and variation, language policies.
Career
