You'll complete a major independent project, supported by modules that put your practice into the context of contemporary debates. You’ll explore the different critical approaches to the making and consumption of photography and film, to inform the short film and photography projects you’ll work on.

The flexibility of this Film, Photography and Media program from University of Leeds allows you to choose from optional modules that suit your personal and career aspirations. You could study cultural policy, international film industries, film and TV writing, feminism in the media and more.

Bachelor's degree with a 2:1 (Hons) or equivalent, preferably in a film, photography, or media discipline.
Preferred specialisms include film, photography, and media-related subjects.
Applicants with relevant professional experience or a strong interest in film, photography, and media are also considered.
Applicants from complementary disciplines are welcome, even if their subject is not listed.
A supporting statement is required, explaining your reasons for applying and your career goals.
Relevant professional experience may strengthen an application.
Additional documentation may be requested during the admissions process.
The course is theory-intensive rather than primarily vocational or technical.
Regular technical support is provided to help realise creative projects.
Applicants from mainly practice-based backgrounds should note the significant theoretical component.
A portfolio of recent practical work must be submitted.
