Overview
Throughout the Inclusive Education (Part-Time) course from University of Gloucestershire course from University of Gloucestershire you will share sessions with those on the MA Education and MA Education, Ethics and Leadership routes. This will support you to develop your understanding of different perspectives, developing your practice and critical thinking as you explore a range of key areas in education.
This Master’s course provides education practitioners and policymakers from third and private sector organisations with key knowledge, skills and abilities. We’ll support you in sustaining and enhancing the effectiveness of your practice to pursue your career aspirations.
The range of modules which form this MA Inclusive Education route will enable you to focus and specialise, with choices built into the assessment requirements. The curriculum reflects the latest developments in education and is delivered by a team of dedicated and experienced teaching staff with specialist areas of expertise, who are all also involved in researching and publishing within the area of inclusion and SEN. Study will include deep interrogation about how the term ‘inclusion’ can be interpreted in the context of Special educational Needs and wider inclusion groups and you will explore this through a range of modules which focus on topics such as pedagogy, ethics in education, education policy, social justice, social and emotional health and wellbeing, the changing field in contemporary education, as well as approaches to educational research. Further information about this is available below. In the final stage of the Master’s you’ll complete a dissertation focusing on your choice of research topic within the field of inclusive education.
You’ll be taught in lectures (including guest lecturers), seminars and workshops at the Francis Close Hall campus in Cheltenham. Contributing your own ideas and participation in discussions during sessions are significant elements within the course. You’ll be assessed 100% by coursework.
As you join this wider Postgraduate community, with a range of supplementary activities on offer, we’ll encourage you to reflect on your own practice, taking the skills and knowledge you gain to implement strategies that meet the needs of your learners.
