Overview
Key features
Throughout the The MSc Innovation in Sustainable Built Environments from University College of Estate Management, students will be encouraged to embrace innovative and alternative thinking. The concept of innovation will be considered in all aspects of sustainability, from management, leadership and organisational approaches to the materials, processes and technologies adopted.
The appetite for sustainability and environmental skills across the built environment is increasing. Companies are aligning their business models and processes with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in mind; but sustainability isn’t static, it evolves and changes.
Senior leaders and sustainability experts need to be future-thinking and challenge what has gone before or been set in strategy. You may well know what your organisation is doing but do you know why, and is it the right thing to do?Through peer discussion and academic input, you will gain insight into different perspectives, argue conflicting interests and develop an understanding of the underpinning policies, research and discourse.
Its multi-disciplined approach will demonstrate how businesses can stay at the forefront of innovation in the built environment and develop their expertise and credentials in this evolving, fast-changing field.
Exploring the challenges, perceptions and practicalities of sustainability, this professional master’s degree will develop the critical skills and language to influence others. It will conceptualise sustainability as a process and provide valuable insight into where to put effort, money and resources.
