Overview
Business communication is about building relationships and results, inside and outside the organisation, while staying true to strategy and values. This Business Communication master's degree from BI Norwegian Business School combines foundational communication theory with digital platforms and AI, data management perspectives, and practical data skills (finding, analysing, and communicating insights).
- Credential earned: Master in Business Communication
You study recent theory, work on class projects using quantitative, qualitative and GenAI-based methods, and discuss real cases with corporate guest speakers. The focus on digital communication equips you to create business opportunities that drive media, social and organisational change, and to use intelligent technology responsibly.
You will learn to:
- design communication for internal and external stakeholders, aligned with strategy, values, reputation and compliance (incl. stakeholder engagement and issues/crisis response).
- use mixed methods, interviews, text/social data, surveys, analytics and experiments, for insight, measurement and continuous improvement.
- plan and run digital platforms and channel operations from planning to publishing, understanding how people and technology interact.
- conduct and present applied research and use responsible AI (ethics, privacy, transparency) for trustworthy communication.
- navigate sensitive and polarised debates and translate complex findings into clear decisions and actions.
Career Possibilities
Platforms and AI change fast, expectations for transparency and compliance keep rising, and public debate is often polarised. As a graduate, you’ll adapt to different contexts, protect and build corporate reputation, work with diverse stakeholders, and turn facts and data into clear messages and action. Examples of areas you can work in:
- Communication strategy & reputation – address stakeholder engagement, issues/crisis response.
- Digital channels & content operations – plan and optimize digital campaigns.
- Internal communication & change – advise on intercultural communication, sustainability or innovation strategies.
- Analytics & insight – plan the measurements (define KPIs, methods and tools), experimentation, and social listening (monitoring/analysing open conversations).
