Overview

Key Features

The planning of the Master's Degree in Clinical Psychosexology at Tor Vergata University of Rome is based on the evident demand for specific training for the psychologist which ideally passes through three training stages:

  • the three-year degree (Class of Degree L-24) to learn the theoretical foundations of euroscience and the psychological and behavioral sciences;
  • the master's degree which in this case confers specific general and applied clinical skills in the psychology and psychopathology of sexual and reproductive behavior according to gender differences and identities; c) postgraduate courses enabling the practice of psychotherapy.
In short, the master's degree course has the task of training, for the first time in the Italian university system, clinical psychologists and sexologists. Graduates, in particular, will have specific skills for the management of discriminating issues and the construction of the stereotypical image of the feminine and the masculine, from the individual, to the dyad, to the family, up to the social macro-area. In the public sphere, graduates will be able to provide psycho-sexological counseling in the following specific areas:
  • Consulting offices;
  • Medically Assisted Procreation Centers;
  • Centers of Psychiatry, Oncology, Gynecology, Andrology, Endocrinology;
  • Outpatient clinics dedicated to mm. sexually transmitted;
  • Centers for the diagnosis and treatment of Gender Identity Dysphoria;
  • Civil and criminal courts (Appraisals)
  • Prisons (criminal paraphilias)
  • Compulsory and secondary schools (Paid courses in Education on Sexuality, Emotions and respect for differences in gender and orientation)
