About the program

The Afrikaans program at University of Johannesburg is offered by the Department of Language, Cultural Studies & Applied Linguistics, part of Faculty of Humanities.

The Department's mission is to develop critical awareness of the importance of thorough knowledge of the ways in which language and texts work as essential components of all successful communication by training students to interact with language and texts and to conduct research in undertake a variety of domains in order to empower them as language users.
