Overview
Education
The programme length is 2.5 years, with one year at University of South Bohemia in Ceské Budejovice, one year at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz and half year is an extra time which the students can use for work on their master's theses - this allows the students to receive additional results and thus increasing the quality of the master thesis, which often leads to publication in peer-reviewed journals.
It is unique in its emphasis on multidisciplinarity, comprehensive thinking, international teamwork and communication skills. The cross-border master´s study programme Biological Chemistry benefits from high-quality chemistry programmes and research at the Faculty of Technology and Science JKU in Linz and biology/biochemistry programmes and research at the Faculty of Science USB.
The emphasis during the study is laid on modern forms of study focused on practical instruction with the use of modern information technology. A significant portion of the study programme consists of practical training, praxis in research laboratories, and involvement in research projects.
The advantage of the study is not only in receiving excellent knowledge of the English language, but also broad knowledge in chemistry, biology, and related fields.
