Programme Description
The new Master's Degree in Geosciences for the Energy Transition trains specialists in geology and geophysics with a clear focus on applying sustainable solutions to the challenges of the energy transition. The programme addresses the advanced study of the subsurface as a key component of the new energy system, with particular attention to:
- geothermal energy,
- underground storage of energy and CO₂,
- responsible exploration of hydrocarbons and natural hydrogen.
Through practical training based on cutting-edge technologies, modelling, and the analysis of real case studies, the Master's programme promotes an interdisciplinary approach that integrates scientific rigour, innovation, and environmental responsibility, preparing professionals capable of leading strategic projects in the energy and environmental sectors.

General requirements
- Applicants should hold an official bachelor's degree or an equivalent undergraduate degree in geology, physics, geological engineering or mining engineering. International students in possession of a bachelor's degree which has no specific equivalent in Spain are welcome to apply, provided that their degree curriculum covers aspects of geology and geophysics (for example, degrees in geosciences, geophysics, geophysical engineering or petroleum engineering).
- Students should also have a good working knowledge of English, because all subjects will be delivered in English.
