Overview
The Applied Economics - Economics program of The University of Lahore integrates economics with core management fields, making it especially relevant to sectors such as education, public service, and international institutions. - The MPhil Economics programme opens diverse and rewarding career avenues for graduates across public, private, and international sectors. Graduates are well-prepared for positions in government ministries such as Finance, Commerce, Economic Affairs, and Planning & Development, as well as institutions like the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), State Bank of Pakistan, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, Bureau of Statistics, Taxation Departments (FBR), and various planning & development departments. They can also pursue careers in commercial and central banking, insurance companies, and stock exchanges.
- Internationally, opportunities exist with renowned organisations such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Trade Organization (WTO), Asian Development Bank (ADB), United Nations agencies including UNICEF and UNDP, and European Union missions. - 16 years of education, 4 years BS/MA/MSc Economics or equivalent degree from a HEC-recognised institute/university with minimum 2.5/4.0 CGPA.
