About Engineering Mathematics at Zewail City of Science and Technology

The Mathematics program aims to provide engineers with solid mathematical foundations and modern mathematical tools to assist in modelling and understanding of real world problems. The Mathematics program offers M.Sc. in Engineering Mathematics in the following concentrations: Optimization and Operational Research and Stochastic Modelling. Applicants must hold a B.Sc. in engineering. Masters candidates must complete 12 credits of graduate-level core courses in the first one and half year. In addition, with the guidance of the students’ supervisors, they must complete 6 credits from the concentrations elective courses.

Program Educational Objectives:

• A solid foundation in mathematics.

• The ability to efficiently formulate and model engineering problems.

• The ability to effectively use new emerging computational methods in problem solving.

• The skills of applying the mathematical concepts and data analysis techniques in solving the engineering problems.

• The ability to employ SW packages to solve mathematical problems and to efficiently integrate it with the in-house models developed by the researcher.
