Key Features

Oceanography and Coastal Area Studies students learn about the diverse groups of marine organisms, variety of ecosystems and habitats and current events in today’s oceans such as overfishing, ocean acidification, restoration and marine protected areas.

Students at Alagappa University gain knowledge on ecology and evolution, the marine environment, taxonomic classification of marine organisms, a survey of major marine ecosystems and marine conservation.

The Eligibility criteria for M.Sc. Oceanography and Coastal Area Studies, B.Sc., in Zoology / Botany / Chemistry / Fishery Science / Earth Science / Physics / Agriculture / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Geology / Aquaculture / Marine Biology / Applied sciences or equivalent thereof in the related disciplines at least 50% marks for SC/ST 45% marks.
