Overview
At The Psychology of Education from The University of the West Indies you will discover how to identify the characteristics and educational needs of students with developmental delays/issues physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally and use your psychological skills to cater for their needs in the classroom settings, how to deal with current issues in the classroom including the need to shift the focus from teacher to students for effective learning and the real-life problems of Caribbean children and adolescents at the different stages of development as well as the theoretical links to explain and analyse each stage in a psychosocial framework with reference to research conducted with Caribbean children and families.

- A Bachelor’s degree of at least Lower Second Class Honours and the Diploma in Education of The University of the West Indies or any other diploma or certificate in Education acceptable to the School of Education;
- A Bachelor’s degree with courses in Education acceptable to the School of Education;
- A Bachelor’s degree and a Teacher’s College Certificate that are both acceptable to the School of Education;
- The Bachelor of Education Degree of the UWI or
- Any qualification deemed to be equivalent by the appropriate committee of the Faculty of Humanities and Education.
