Overview
The graduate of Civil Engineering degree is offered at Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava understands the theories, methods and procedures of designing load-bearing structures of buildings and civil engineering structures covering the entire design process from designing the concept of the load-bearing system through designing dimensions of load-bearing elements, calculation of loads for standard structural materials such as reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, structural steel, steel-concrete, masonry, timber.
The graduate of the second degree university education in the study programme Civil Engineering can creatively solve theoretical and practical tasks in connection with the profession of a civil engineer and its role in society, especially in the preparation, design and realization of civil engineering and water management structures considering economic and legislative requirements.
Employability of graduates
Graduates of the Civil Engineering study programme may continue their PhD studies in follow-up or related study programmes. The versatility of this engineering study programme allows the graduate to be employed in the construction industry in all European Union countries, wherever a second degree university education is required. The graduate of this study programme has the advantage of a broad-spectrum knowledge in the design and realization of geotechnical, steel, concrete, transport as well as water structures.

General requirements
- The bachelors which are applying for directly linked study programs in master degree are to be accepted without any admission exam until three years since finished the bachelor study.
- In case of study program building constructions and architecture is the acceptance conditioned by passing the talent admission exam.
- The final list of accepted students for individual study programs will be worked out on the basis of results of the state exam or admission exam and the graduate degree average from the bachelor study. In case of study program building constructions and architecture, there will also be considered results of the talent admission exam.
- The applicants for study in English language which did not attend the bachelor degree in English language the certificate of language eligibility or admission exam from English language is required.
