Instructor of English as a Foreign Language
The Instructor of English as a Foreign Language programme at the University of Pannonia is a two-semester, practice-oriented postgraduate course designed to prepare students for teaching English to non-native speakers and for educational and pedagogical research. The programme equips graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to plan, develop, and implement language acquisition and teaching strategies effectively.

Programme structure and credit allocation:
Developing language skills and competences: 9 credits (introduction to language pedagogy, applied linguistics, methodology, classroom language development)
Developing pedagogical skills for EFL: 27 credits (methodology, classroom observation, teaching practice, follow-up seminars, English descriptive linguistics, academic writing)
Developing specific competences: 16 credits (assessment and testing, student diversity, teaching cultural diversity, IT in the classroom, course design)
Dissertation-related courses: 5 credits
Elective subjects: 3 credits
All students complete teaching practice, including university peer teaching sessions and a six-week in-school placement.

Entry requirements:
Undergraduate diploma (or higher): BA in humanities or pedagogy
English language proficiency: minimum C1 level (CEFR)
Applicants must have completed at least 50 credits in humanities and education. Acceptable proofs of English proficiency include a C1-level complex language exam or an equivalent internationally recognized certificate. Foreign nationals must provide proof of equivalent language skills.
