Overview
Advanced Studies in Computer Science from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi is expected that most graduates of the Master of Advanced Studies in Computer Science will continue their research work in doctoral studies.
The selection of candidates is a very demanding one and is based on a presentation of a research plan under the guidance of a teacher. During the studies, careful monitoring of the activity of these students by the tutor teacher is carried out, and, at the end of each semester, there is a presentation session in which the master students present their results. In order to carry out the proposed research plan, a master student has the freedom to choose the most appropriate disciplines of all those taught at all master’s modules or in the doctoral school within the faculty.
Features
- Each master student from Advanced Studies in Computer Science chooses a research topic, which he will work on under the guidance of a full-time teacher from the Faculty of Computer Science.
- The curriculum is an individual one, consisting of disciplines chosen from the other masters or from the Doctoral School, depending on the chosen research topic. In well-justified cases, for example, interdisciplinary research topics, disciplines from other faculties may also be chosen, provided that there is an agreement for each such discipline between the two faculties.
- At the beginning of the first-year teaching activity, the student will draw up an individual research plan, which will be approved by the guiding teacher. The plan for monitoring the activity will also be included in this plan. The individual research plan is attached to the study contract. Interdisciplinary research topics are also accepted, provided that computer science is the main field.
- The master’s activity will be carried out full-time within the faculty or part-time at a company that will conclude an agreement with the faculty on the development of the research topic. The research topic can also be proposed by companies.
