Overview
The M1 General Physics programme at Paris-Saclay University provides students with the essential skills, knowledge and research ability for a career in the major fields of modern, fundamental physics. These include particle, nuclear and atomic physics, astrophysics, astroparticles and cosmology, condensed matter, statistical physics, optics, plasma and laser sciences. Both experimental and theoretical aspects are covered.
The M1 General Physics programme also offers to students the opportunity to discover and integrate the world class, vibrant research environment of Université Paris-Saclay.
Learning outcomes
M1 General Physics graduates will have:
- gained an understanding of selected areas of physics at the frontier of knowledge, beyond the undergraduate level,
- expanded their knowledge of advanced mathematical methods,
- received a training in research techniques and methodology,
- gained experience in conducting a physics-related research project and in reporting the results in a comprehensive scientific report and oral presentation,
- developed skills in written and oral communication to a specialised and non-specialised public.
